Scope: Public Area Artwork

Our studio was commissioned to develop a series of bespoke artworks for the public areas of two condominium lobbies in Toronto. In collaboration with II BY IV DESIGN, we worked to translate their design vision— including the selected color palette and material direction—into a cohesive visual narrative, partnering with our local network of artists and fabricators to bring the pieces to life across both spaces.

In the first lobby, the artworks strike a quiet balance between structure and softness, movement and stillness. A wall-mounted installation of hand-welded and bent metal grids introduces a sense of suspended energy, while a framed woven piece—featuring intersecting circles in a subtle herringbone weave—offers a grounded counterpoint. A neutral palette and shared language of pattern and layering tie the pieces together in a dialogue between expressive and restrained.

In the second lobby, the artworks build on this language, exploring gesture, materiality, and spatial rhythm. A bold triptych anchors the space with sweeping brushstrokes in deep blue and yellow, evoking an abstracted landscape. Two monofilament mesh works, encased in acrylic, add a tactile, suspended quality, while two freestanding geometric sculptures by the window introduce sculptural rhythm and contrast. Together, the pieces extend a contemporary vocabulary of softness, structure, and scale.
