Inspired by the human form, CLAV’s organic walnut frame is shaped by the suggestion of softness – rounded shoulders, a delicate clavicle. A highly polished brass form rests above, with the viewers reflection partially obscured by the hand-patinated surface and hammered edges. The brass has been meticulously patinated and polished by hand – creating a striking contrast. The edges were carefully hammered and tarnished before being dry-fitted into the walnut frame. The scale and material configurations for this piece are endless.
